Astro Majors awarded Autumn 2023 Undergraduate Research Scholarships
Seven undergraduate Astronomy & Astrophysics majors have been awarded College of Arts and Sciences Undergraduate Research Scholarships as part of the Autumn 2023 competition:
- Sanskruti Admane, research advisor: Julia Hawkins (Department of Classics)
- Kaia Atzberger, research advisor: Donald Terndrup
- Sam Bellman, research advisor: Antonio Boveia (Department of Physics)
- Maura Kelley, research advisors: Wayne Schlingman and Mark Reynolds
- Calder Lenhart, research advisors: Marshall Johnson and Ji Wang
- Jacob Spiegel, research advisors: Jonathan Crass and Richard Pogge
- Jacob was also awarded an International Research Grant for this work
- Jack Stethem, research advisor: Richard Hughes (Department of Physics)
The Undergraduate Research Scholarship is a merit award that is designed to offset the cost of the student researcher’s education. Scholarship recipients are chosen based not only on the promise and ability of the student, but also on the quality and significance of the research project.
Awards received by the above students ranged from $1,050 to $2,900.
