Welcome to Ohio State Astronomy and Astrophysics

Dr. David Weinberg is the former chair of the Department of Astronomy at The Ohio State University. Dr. Weinberg studies the large-scale structure of the universe, dark energy and dark matter, the formation and evolution of galaxies and quasars, and the intergalactic medium (IGM). He became chairperson of the department in 2015. In 2017, he was named a Distinguished University Professor, the highest faculty award at the university. In the following video, Dr. Weinberg delivers a welcome and overview of Ohio State Astronomy and Astrophysics.
