The following are some options for contributing to the Astronomy Department's activities through OSU's Online Giving website. The Endowment and the Discretionary Fund support to Research, Education, and Outreach, and provide us with the most flexibility in the use of these funds.
The other funds are some ways to provide support of specific areas. For example, the funds for both the Friends of Ohio State Astronomy and Astrophysics and the Friends of the Arne Slettebak Planetarium support our Outreach activities.
Department of Astronomy Discretionary Fund
Covers expenditures made at the discretion of the chair of the Astronomy Department.
The Ohio State University Astronomy Endowment Fund
Provides long term support for the Education, Research, Outreach, and Service missions of the Astronomy Department.
David Will Astronomy Fund
Established by gifts from colleagues, students, and alumni affiliated with the Department of Astronomy in memory of long-time department staff member David Will. The Fund may support research efforts in astronomy and astrophysics, events that promote the intellectual vitality of the department, and an annual prize to recognize a student or postdoctoral researcher in Astronomy & Astrophysics.
Friends of Ohio State Astronomy and Astrophysics (FOSAA) Fund
Supports public outreach activities of FOSAA and research activities in the Department of Astronomy and the Center for Cosmology and AstroParticle Physics.
Friends of the Arne Slettebak OSU Planetarium
Supports the operations and activities of the Arne Slettebak OSU Planetarium.
