Terry Walker
Professor of Physics & Astronomy
M2012 Physics Research Building
Areas of Expertise
- Theoretical Astrophysics
- Cosmology
- High-energy nuclear physics
A member of the faculty since 1990, Prof. Walker has a joint appointment in the Physics and Astronomy Departments. He has done foundational work in the field of big bang nucleosynthesis, as well as the astrophysical production of the light elements. His recent research efforts extend to primordial nucleosynthesis in non-standard cosmologies, dark matter annihilation and secondary particle production and detection, and the diffuse neutrino background from supernovae. From 2006 to 2011 he was the Director of the Center for Cosmology and Astro-Particle Physics (CCAPP), leading the birth of this collaborative effort between the Physics and Astronomy Departments.
