OUABlast off with Dr. Mae Jemison
Dr. Mae Jemison is a trailblazing astronaut, physician, and advocate for diversity and inclusion in STEM. She made history in 1992 as the first Black woman to travel to space and has continued to inspire generations with her groundbreaking achievements. Jemison is also a fierce champion for science literacy and education, and works tirelessly to empower underrepresented communities to pursue careers in STEM. On March 27th, 2023, our Astronomy graduate and undergraduate students were able to meet her and take this amazing picture!!!!
