Astronomy Double Majors win 2023 Undergraduate Physics Awards

On April 21, the Department of Physics recognized the 2023 undergraduate physics and engineering physics award recipients during an awards ceremony. The following are the undergraduate students in the Department of Astronomy who won.

Helen Cowan Freshmen Book Awards

The Helen Cowan Book Award was established to recognize physics and engineering physics majors who have achieved excellent grades in their first-year physics course

Physics Sophomore Awards

The Physics Sophomore Awards are funded by the Dr. David C. DeMartini Endowed Fund in Physics, established on May 30, 2003 by Dr. DeMartini. This fund promotes and recognizes high standards in scholarship among undergraduate physics and engineering physics majors.

The Physics Junior Awards are funded by the Jack C. and Charlotte D. Smith Scholarship Fund, established on June 7, 1991 by Charlotte Smith in memory of Jack Smith. This fund promotes and recognizes high standards in scholarship among undergraduate physics and engineering physics majors.

The Physics Senior Awards are funded by the Alpheus W. and Adah B. Smith Endowment Fund in Physics, established on February 7, 1997, by the Board of Trustees in memory of the Smiths. Bunny and Thomas Clark Scholarship

The Bunny and Thomas Clark Scholarship Fund was established in 2006 by the OSU Board of Trustees with gifts from Bunny and Thomas Clark. This scholarship was created to award and recognize female students who show strong service to the Department of Physics.
