Come join us on Saturday, May 20 at 10:00 am to hear experts from The Ohio State University talk about their latest, exciting research on Astronomy & Astrophysics.
The Program
Session 1 -
Session 2 - Click to Register
Both sessions will begin in Smith Lab 1005 for our suite of talks. Then we will break for discussion and planetarium shows. We will run the planetarium shows twice (30+ minutes each) so everyone will get a chance to see it if there are not enough seats in one session.
Our three talks and speakers will be:
- Making Space Accessible - Ms. Caitlin O'Brien
- Not Your Grandparent's Astronomy: Observing the High-Energy Universe with Neutrinos - Dr. William Luszczak
- Galaxies are exploding and we don’t know why! - Professor Todd Thompson
We will also feature a new Planetarium show on sonification, the Audio Universe Tour of the Solar System.
We will have snacks after the event with opportunities to meet and ask questions of more members of the Department of Astronomy and the Center for Cosmology and Astrophysics. This will either be outside (weather permitting) or on the ground floor of Smith Lab.
