Diversity Journal Club — September 29, 2022
This Thursday we will continue our Diversity Journal Club. Paul Martini will lead a discussion of the recent physics colloquium by Professor Mary James (Reed College) on What Does Access Really Mean? Findings from the AIP TEAM_UP Report. Prof. James was one of the co-chairs of the American Institute of Physics’ TEAM_UP task force that conducted a two-year study on causes and remedies for the underrepresentation of African American students earning B.A./B.S. degrees in physics and astronomy.
As always, pizza will be served. We also have a zoom option to cater to those unable to attend in person:
