Title: Exceptional stars, exceptional physics: what stellar outliers reveal about the missing physics

Abstract:
Modern astronomical surveys are revealing millions of stars with unprecedented measurements of their chemistry, dynamics, rotation, and evolution. In this talk, I will present three examples spanning chemical evolution, stellar evolution, and angular-momentum evolution, demonstrating how stellar outliers can serve as laboratories for discovering missing physics. Finally, I will outline future directions enabled by current and upcoming large spectroscopic, astrometric, and time-domain surveys. By studying the stars that challenge our models, I aim to uncover the physical processes governing how stars and galaxies evolve.
