Tharindu Jayasinghe Annonced as a Recipient of the Chambliss Astronomy Achievement Student Award

Tharindu Jayasinghe, a graduate student of Astronomy, received the American Astronomical Society (AAS) Chambliss Astronomy Achievement Student Award at the 233rd AAS meeting in Seattle for besat poster presentation by a graduate student. The award includes a Chambliss medal. Tharindu presented his work on the discovery and characterization of variable stars with the All Sky Automated Survey (ASAS-SN), which is a large scale all-sky variablility survey run by Ohio State astronomers.

Tharindu recieved his undergraduate degree from California State Polytechnic University - Pomona, and joined our graduate program in the fall of 2017 with the support of a University Fellowship.
