Ohio State University postdoctoral researcher Dr. Radek Poleski recently received the Polish Astronomical Society Young Scientist Award, which recognizes his extensive scientific contributions to the study of variable stars, precision astrometry, and microlensing searches for extrasolar planets throughout the Milky Way. Radek has been a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Astronomy at Ohio State since 2013, co-authoring many publications presenting results from the highly-successful Optical Gravitational Lensing Experiment (OGLE) and other surveys probing the nature of stars and their planets in our Galaxy and its nearest neighbors.

Congratulations to Radek Poleski!! You can read about his award here. There is a long list of names that has Bohdan Paczynski at the top, Kris Stanek somewhere in the middle, and Radek Poleski as the newest entry, plus a lot of other well-known astronomers, so Radek is clearly in excellent company!
