Adam Leroy Wins NSF CAREER Award

Professor Adam Leroy

Astronomy Assistant Professor Adam Leroy was awarded a prestigious Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Award from the National Science Foundation, which supports junior faculty who are exceptional teacher-scholars. The main aim of his research is to study how stars are born in galaxies' "stellar nurseries." Professor Leroy will use the five-year, $582,635 award to support graduate students, engage in outreach to Ohio high school students through the Ohio Supercomputer Center's Summer Institute, and provide summer research opportunities to undergraduate students with disabilities.
